Hello all - I've recently bought a new computer on which I want to run Invoice Expert. What is the best way to gather the data off of the old machine and put it on the new machine. I'm inferring I need to download Invoice Expert onto the new machine, but of course with that I won't have any of my customers, order history, open invoices, etc. Advice?

What version of windows is Invoice Expert currently installed on what is the new version of Windows you will be running. Moving your data is very simple but between 7, Vista and XP there are differences.

I'm currently running Invoice Expert XE Lite 8899 2.86 on a machine running Vista Home Basic.

I need to move it to a machine running Windows 7 Starter (it's a netbook, as I'll be needing to be using this software at different locations).

On both Windows 7 and Vista your data file is located in the following folder
"C:\ProgramData\Invoice Expert"
The file name is PCInvXE.vdb3 copy this file from the old computer to the new computer as it contains all your information. Also, if you are running the advanced edition you can save the data file to any folder you wish and use the switch companies funtion to open it.

Hello,

I could not the folder "C:\ProgramData\Invoice Expert". However, I did find the specified file in "C:\Program Files\Invoice Expert\Data". pcinvxe.vdb3 doesn't seem big enough to be my database. As well, when I copy it onto the new machine under C:\Program Files\Invoice Expert\Data, it makes no difference. What am I missing here?
